1. Stereo Width Knob From mono (fully counterclockwise), to normal stereo (centered) and expanded stereo field (between center and fully clockwise).
2. Swap L/R Switch When active, the left and right inputs are swapped.
3. Bass Mono Knob Sets the frequency below which the output will be monophonic. Set fully counterclockwise to disable this effect.
4. Balance Knob Adjusts the relative level of the left and right channels.
5. Output Trim Knob Adjusts the output level.
6. Stereo Input Left (top) and right (bottom) inputs.
7. Stereo Output Left (top) and right (bottom) outputs.

Handy utility to improve an audio signal’s stereo imaging. This module is only useful if the source is stereo.

Stereo Width ⚓︎

• At the center position, the original signal’s stereo width is preserved.

• Turning the knob counterclockwise from the center position will gradually make the signal mono. When fully counterclockwise, the output is entirely mono.

• Turning the knob clockwise from the center position will gradually increase the stereo width. This may have an impact on the output volume, and may not work for all sources.

Try connecting a LFO to one of the knob’s modulation inputs for an interesting stereo effect.

Balance ⚓︎

The balance knob sets the relative level of the left and right channels.

• At the center position, both the left and right audio signals play at full volume.

• Turning the knob counterclockwise from the center position will lower the right channel volume.

• Turning the knob clockwise from the center position will lower the left channel volume.

This only changes the volume of each channel; it never sends the left signal to the right channel or vice-versa.

Bass Mono ⚓︎

The Bass Mono knob sets the frequency below which the audio signal will be converted to mono.

When the knob is fully counterclockwise (default position), this effect is disabled.

This can be used on a drum or bass track to make the low-end more focused.

Internally, this splits the signal into two bands using a fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley filter. You may notice some phase cancellation around the bass mono frequency. Furthermore, turning the knob may cause a temporary pitch-shifting effect. This can be used creatively by connecting a LFO to the knob’s modulation input.

Swap L/R ⚓︎

When enabled, this swaps the input’s left and right channels.

Out Trim ⚓︎

The Stereo Width and Balance knobs may affect the overall volume. Use the Out Trim knob to bring the level back to its original level.
